Sneak Peek : NYC Rooftops

What do you usually do during a flight?
Do you read a book ?
Listen to some music ?
I can't wait for the time the plane is so close to earth that you can see all the rooftops of the city!
So you can easily imagine how I felt when I bumped into this post.
Excited.

Jwilly's photostream on flickr
gives you a glimpse of what is above the sky-scrapping madness
in New York
.
I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did.

Ralph Lauren knows how to celebrate.

Now, that's what I call a party.
Ralph Lauren staged a “four-dimensional” light installation on Wednesday night at its flagship locations
in New York and London
to celebrate its 10 year digital innovation.
New Bond Street experienced a so-called fourth dimension show with a series of additional sensory effects,
including sound (music), touch (breezes)
and smell (wafts of the brand’s fragrance collection),
timed in sequence with the show.
Wish I was there.

Enjoy

Shoebox Art

There are 2 types of people.
  • People that buy a new pair of shoes, then keep the shoes and throw away the shoebox.
  • People that buy a new pair of shoes and keep the box forever.
I also know somebody who wrote a book about a Shoebox.
But to make art out of it?

I belong to the people that keep the shoebox.
I don't know why, sometimes I tend to reuse them as jewelry boxes but it never occurred me that Shoebox was an artistic material.

A few months ago Bryan Adams Foundation and Kids Company hosted
"
Shoebox Art"
a unique auction of art from leading artists.
Each artist tried to
recreate a room from their childhood inside a shoebox
.

These are my favorite shoe boxes:

Artist: Linder Sterling

Title: Mother's Hour

Materials : dolls | fabric flower | glamour mirror | scouring pads

Artist: Paul Hazelton

Title: Table Tornado

Materials: Household dust
