House tour : Underground vacation home

Hello , I want to apologize for being absent from my blog for the past few days , but shooting of Spiti Apo tin Arxi kept me really busy.
Today I want to show you an underground vacation home (located in Switzerland)that was designed by Bjarne Mastenbroek and Christian Müller [architectural offices SeARCH and CMA].
This only access to villa Vals is an underground tunnel which runs straight through the mountainside.
Wood & concrete are the main ingredients for this recipe.
I really wish I was there right now.

ps: Villa Vals can be booked for €1750 to €3450 per week, depending on the season

Renovated Warehouse in Melbourne

I found the home or should I say 'Warehouse' of my dreams on HomeDsgn and now I want to share the feeling with you.
It was definitely love at first sight.
This apartment is located in a historic 1880′s building in Melbourne, Australia.
It's an old renovated Warehouse and it has three bedrooms, two bathroom plus it's on Sale!
Truth is that it looks like a loft , but it isn't.
The chandelier combined with the high concrete ceilings makes this apartment my Dream House.
What do you think?

House tour:Small & well planned Interior

Despite its size, only 40 square meters, it looks like there's nothing missing in this apartment.
A well planned modern apartment with big windows that allow natural light to flow through the house.
A small interior that expresses the modern way we're living in 2011!
I adore it.

Philippe Starck | Louis Ghost Chair

Philippe Patrick Starck (born January 18, 1949, Paris) is a French product designer and probably the best known designer in the New Design style.
Regarding Starck's furniture designs, he is famous for his designs for the Italian manufacturer Kartell, many of which are made from polycarbonate plastic. World famous products he has designed include the transparent Louis Ghost chair, Ero|S| chair, Bubble Club sofa, and La Bohème stool.
Today I want to talk to you about the famous Ghost Chair.
Louis Ghost chair was introduced in 2002 and it's a continuation of the use of durable polycarbonate by the firm.

Available in clear, opaque black, opaque white, smoke grey, straw yellow, pale orange, ice green and pale blue. colored chairs appear to tinted.

A comfortable armchair in transparent and colored polycarbonate in the Louis XV style, Louis Ghost is the most daring example of the world of injected polycarbonate in a single mould.
Despite its evanescent and crystalline appearance, Louis Ghost is stable and durable, shock, scratch and weather resistant. Perfect for outdoor spaces.

You can buy a Louis Ghost armchair for $330.00
If you live in Greece you can buy (with a minimum order of 50 pieces) here.
For international orders I found the Louis Ghost chair available to buy here

House tour : A Family Loft in Spain

It's almost Saturday here in Greece and due to work and bad mood I decided to stay in and spend the night with you. So here it is, one of my favorite discoveries:
The Family Loft.
Most people might think that family & loft don't go together. But in this case they do. An industrial family loft in Spain , with pink details and a roof garden with a pool to die for. A real paradise in the center of Barcelona.
ps: Notice on the terrace how the crude wood matches the beige curtains!

One table,different chairs

Old trend comes back to life: I love it when a table has different chairs around it.
I first noticed it many years ago while watching FRIENDS,
do you remember Monica and Rachel's apartment?
I've posted a photo of the set below!

Several interiors following this trend.

It's Friday,I'm in love with: Floors with black Stripes!

I have to say I'm a huge fan of stripes.
I want to wear stripes, I want to see stripes, I want to walk on stripes.
Don't be afraid, try this different way of saying "Welcome home" with some stripes on your floor.
If you want to paint them yourself read these instructions on ehow here.
What do you think?Which one is your favorite?
One room, two beds with bold red headboards.
So stylish.
Another way to welcome stripes in your apartment
is a striped rug,
you can use the same pattern on the cushions.

A Danish Country chic home

Today I love Country chic design and this is a really bright example of it.
A danish home styled by Louise Kamman Riising and shot by Pernille Kaalund.
I love the combination of white and dark brown wood.
Notice all the antique details all over the the apartment.

Country Chic: Add some barn doors

Are you a big fan of Country chic interiors?
Country chic style mixes elements from traditional cottages and farms with modern and chic furniture.
The perfect idea for your vacation house or your loft.
I absolutely adore this trend.

Luxury Thursday: Transparent bathroom

Good Morning!
I feel lately that everybody around me is really stressed!
So what's the best way to relax? A bubble bath.
Not so many people have the luxury of owning a transparent bathroom like this one.
Having a bubble bath while staring at the stars? It's a dream come true.
Would you love the idea of a transparent bathroom or does it make you uncomfortable?

Chair Wednesday: Eames Plastic chairs

Today is Wednesday, so it's all about chairs!
You all recognize the chair I'm showing you today because it seems to be everywhere, but do you know its name?

Eames Plastic  Chair was the first industrially manufactured plastic chair and it was made by Charles and Ray Eames during 1948.
