DIY Monday : Christmas calender Ideas

A minimalistic Christmas Calender - via

London is really moody and cold today, the only thing I can think about is Christmas.
I'm counting down for Christmas holidays with my family and friends and I decided I need a calender for that. A special calender that will count the days until the time I'm home.
I did a little research and I found some great DIY ideas.
I hope you like them and they'll give you inspiration for your own Christmas decorations.

Do you have a special countdown?

House tour : A fashionista's apartment

This apartment definitely belongs to a person with a great sense of style.
Dark floors combined perfectly with fashionable posters and colorful books.
I heart all the artworks that are displayed on the walls.
Check out how the owner uses a ladder to decorate his bathroom.
It is for sale on Bolaget.

What do you think?

House tour : Vacation house of 'Le pain Quotidien' family

Le pain Quotidien is definitely one of my favorite places in London.
A place to enjoy your brunch, have a coffee, work & read.
So when I discovered this house tour on Architectural Digest I was thrilled.
A vacation house that belongs to Vincent Herbert, CEO of Le Pain Quotidien, and his wife, Laurence Verbeke.
Renovated by Francis D’Haene of D’Apostrophe Design , it's located in Remsenburg, New York.
I love the Tom Dixon pendant lamps that are hanging over the dining table.

Enjoy!

You light up my Tuesday : Skull Chandelier

This skull chandelier is a creation by Hans Van Bentem.
An Artist born in The Hague, he now lives and works in Rotterdam, the Czech Republic and China.
He creates some of the most impressive chandeliers you'll ever see.
Today I want to focus on the Skull Chandelier, an extraordinary rock lighting pendant.
Definitely not suitable for an apartment but a great choice for events or even a restaurant.
What do you think?

DIY Monday : Christmas in a jar

I found this amazing DIY project on 'The Tortoise and the Hare' blog and I have to admit that I loved it. I've saved this picture so I can make something similar and I think you will find the concept amazing,  plus it's really easy! The concept is really simple: Christmas in a jar.
You will need some empty glass jars and a few Christmas decorations. Some paint to dye everything and maybe some snow to put it on the bottom of the jar! Read the instructions by the lovely sisters of thetortoiseandthehare blog here.
Would you attempt to create something similar?

I can't wait to create my own Christmas jars!

You can find it in eight different colours and it's made from polypropylene. Durable & 100% recyclable. Find out more about Tin Ton chair here.

DIY Monday : Frame your Shopping bags

This post is a Styling Recipe and a DIY project. What's the future of your shopping bags? Do you keep them somewhere safe?  I usually throw way the shopping bags and just keep my shoe boxes, without knowing if I will ever use them again. This is a fun way to display your shopping bags : frame them and hang them on your wall!
What do you think? Would you try something like this in your closet or in your bedroom?

This modern residence is a family apartment. It belongs to a married couple with two children. It's not a huge apartment, it's only 80 square meters. What do you think of white interiors ? Is it too bright for you? I love white apartments, especially when they're perfectly combined with dark furniture!
