Let it rain, Let it rain!

Autumn is officially here and I couldn't be happier.
Everybody in Athens enjoyed the first Autumn rain yesterday and if you are a close friend of me you already know that I love this season of the year!

Rain makes me strangely happy and after a really hot summer , I'm allowed to wear my Hunter wellies again.
I also discovered a new addiction : Looklet
website
(hey, I'm still a newbie around here!)
For those of you who don't know Looklet , it's a website that gives you the opportunity to be a stylist. You pick your model and create a whole outfit , you can even choose the backround of your photoshoot.
This is my first Looklet - Look!

What do you think?

I strongly support the opinion that Hunter boots go with everything!
Are you a Rain Boot fan?

You don't need to buy a motorcycle to wear these boots, girls&boys!

Biker boots: trend or lifestyle ?

Wikipedia believes that:

Motorcycle boots are associated with motorcycle riders and range from above ankle to below knee boots They have an outside of a typical boot but a low heel to control the motorcycle. To improve motorcycle safety, motorcycle boots are generally made from a thick, heavy leather and may include energy absorbing and load spreading padding, metal, plastic and/or composite materials to protect the motorcycle rider's feet, ankles and legs in an accident.

I bought my first pair back in 2009 and I still love it.
I'm not saying that you must throw away your high heels (I'd never commit such a crime) but a pair of biker boots would make you Chic & tough at the same time.
I did a little research and discovered some amazing pairs of biker boots. The only thing you have to do is go to a store and try them on!

the pink Comeback

Hello friends ,
It's been almost a month since my last post because of my summer holidays and an almost-dead laptop.
But now I'm back- for good.
I borrowed a laptop and I'm posting my new summer friend:
The pink Sugarfree dress.
It was love at first time & on SALE. So I had to take it home.
But home wasn't good enough for it because it was way too cute to stay in -so I took it to Crete on my holidays with me.

Here we are(the dress & me) having fun around the hotel

I've missed my blog & your comments so much , I'm never leaving it again.
I hope you all have a happy week and enjoy the fullmoon tomorrow ;)

Paris meets Athens. For the first time.

The date has been set.
French Fashion House Guy Laroche will "visit" the 8th Athens Exclusive Designers Week on October 2010.
For the first time.
Marcel Marongiu [artistic Director of GL since 2007] will be there, too.

[Athens Xclusive Designers Week - AXD is the official international fashion week in Greece, which takes place twice a year, presenting the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter collections of significant fashion designers from Greece and abroad.]

So I grab the chance and I'm presenting you my favorite
outfits from Fall 2010 collection and my last purchases
from the Guy Laroche Fashion House.

my last purchases

A turquoise leather jacket & an authentic Panama hat , both bought from Guy Laroche boutique.

Do you like them?
Sadly it's too hot here in Greece , to wear the leather jacket so I have to wait till Autumn , but the hat will be my best friend during my holidays!

It's a turban story

What do we know about turbans? Except the fact that they were all over Sex and the City 2. I'm a definitely a headwear fan as you can see in my photo,
but I don't think many people like hats and head accessories.

Information about turbans

Unconfirmed legend has it that one day thousands of years ago a man took a bath in a lovely oasis in the middle of the desert. After drying himself with a towel he decided to overcome the hot sun by wrapping the damp towel around his head to take advantage of the cool feeling it provided. The local people adopted this method of fighting the heat and to this day variations of this centuries old technique is still used.
  • Turbans can be decorated in a variety of ways. Often the fabric is dyed one color and bordered with a contrasting color. For more intricate designs, everyday turbans are block-printed or tie-dyed. Festive turbans are made of more expensive fabrics, such as silk, and even woven or stamped with gold thread.
  • Turban & Religion are also close to each other.People around the globe don't wear turbans because they're fashionable but because their religion dictates so.
  • The term "turban" also refers to a woman's hat that is similar in shape to a man's turban.
  • Visit the turbanizer site to see how you look in a turban

  • Three years ago,in 2007 Prada’s glamorous silk satin turbans exploded on the runway at their show for Spring/Summer 07

  • Jean Paul Gaultier also launched over sized turbans for the Fall Winter 2010 collection.

If you don't know how to tie your turban ,
Maddie from
Wardrobe Recycle
can show you how to do it right here .
In case you are too bored to tie anything ,
I found some cute turbans already tied for you!

So is the turban finding its way into your closet?Do you Dare?
