Chair Wednesday : Ball Chair

I've always wanted to sleep in a ball chair , but it would look so wrong in my house.
The Ball Chair was designed by Finnish furniture designer Eero Aarnio in 1963.
The Ball Chair is also known as the globe chair and is famous for its unconventional shape.
Cozy and calm this chair gives you the feeling of isolation while it is also turning around its own axis on the base.
A small private space for one in your apartment.

The Vitra Design Museum notes in his brochure on the Ball Chair miniature: "It is something between a piece of furniture and a piece of architecture and at the same time embodies both the mobile and the established, the fixed." - You'll find this miniature at the Vitra Design Museum's Shop.


1990 ADELTA agreed with Eero Aarnio on the worldwide exclusive marketing rights for the fibreglass furniture designs.
The rights for the ball chair,plastil chair, tomato chair and bubble chair (acryl) went over from the company Asko to ADELTA.
